Kanha National Park Tourism

Kanha National Park : Kanha National Park is located in the  Maikal range of Satpuras in Madhya Pradesh. The national  park is being famous for the Tiger reserve and interestingly is being announced  as one of the best wildlife sanctuary.

Spreading across two revenue districts  the Mandala and the Balaghat. The bamboo and lush saal forest, grassy meadows and ravines  of Kanha provided motivation to Rudyard Kipling for his famous  novel "Jungle Book".

The Kanha  National Park was declared a reserve forest in 1879 and revalued as a wildlife  sanctuary in 1933. Its position was further upgraded to a national park in 1955 and forms the core of  the Kanha Tiger Reserve, produced in 1974 under Project Tiger.

The Park's  landmark achievement is the preservation of the rare hardground Swamp Deer  (Barasingha), saving it from near extinction. Stringent protection plans for  the overall protection of the Park's fauna and flora, creates Kanha one of the best  preserve National Parks in Asia.


Jungle Safari :   A tour to Kanha Reserve directly takes you to the widespread field of the lush environment of wild creatures. With jeep safari and elephant safari an meet to all these species is in fact generous and valuable. With jungle safari you can take a nearer seem to the wild animals and can capture their generous images in your cameras. 


The Baghira Log Huts :   Baghira Log Huts in Kanha National Park (near Kisli gate) is the State Tourism Department property. It is inside Khatia gate and near Kisli entrance gate. It is the single property which can be said to be in jungle where wild animals like tiger, Deers, Wild Boar(Pig), Bison regularly seen in surrounding spot of resort.


Bamni Dadar :    A heightened attraction within the Park is Bamni Dadar,  popularly known as Sunset Point that offers the most awe-inspiring backdrop of the sunset against grazing Sambhars and Gaurs, magnifying the natural splendor of the area.

How to Getting there:-

By Air: The Nearest airport is at Jabalpur (156 km.), connected with regular flights from Delhi & Bhopal and Indore.

By Train : Jabalpur and Bilaspur are Most convenient railheads.

By Road : Daily bus service available for kanha Kisli and Mukki from Jabalpur and back. Taxis are available for hire from Jabalpur, Bilaspur and Raipur. Vehicles are not allows in the park after dark.
